30ml treats 227 litres
118ml treats 893 litres
237ml treats 1,794 litres

Directions for use

For both freshwater and salt water aquariums of 38 litres or more add 1 teaspoon 5ml of AMMOLOCK for each 38 litre of water. For smaller aquariums up to 19 litres, add 1/2 teaspoon 2.5ml of AMMO LOCK to the aquarium water. Continue to add API ammo lock every 2 days until ammonia is not detected. You will need an ammonia test kit to confirm this.
If you are still getting ammonia readings after 7 days, then this does indicate possible overfeeding, overstocking or inadequate biological filtration. Performing a partial water change and reducing feeding should help rectify the balance. Also make sure you never rinse the filter sponges under tap water as this kills off any beneficial bacteria present.

API Ammo lock can be used with other medications

Notes on Ammonia:
Ammonia can enter the aquarium from many sources such as tap water, decomposing plants, algae and uneaten fish food can all increase the levels of ammonia. Ammonia is very toxic to all aquarium organisms and must be acted upon at the first sign of the problem. Ammonia can be found in either a toxic or non toxic state. The unionized ammonia is the toxic compound that destroys the fish tissue and ammonium is considered the non toxic. The exact proportion of ammonia to ammonium depends on pH and temperature. Ammonium transforms to the more toxic ammonia at higher pH and higher temperature so the pH and temperature increases the toxic levels. It is worth noting that test kits do test the total ammonia of both the toxic and non toxic in the water so although a test kit may still read ammonia being in the water it could well be the less harnful ammonium. However with this in mind it is always best to completely eradicating the ammonia or ammonium from the aquarium by having an effective biological filter system.
