Brightwell Alkalin8.3 250ml
Alkalinity also know as carbonate hardness is an essential element within an aquarium, responsible for stabilising pH in a solution such as aquarium water. Doing such job makes it extremely important to that of a marine aquarium. Weak acids formed by respiration and decomposition of organics will gradually deplete alkalinity, when left unattended it will drop resulting in a shift in pH. This can cause large amounts of stress on aquarium inhabitants. Alkalinity is also depleted by means of coral growth due to the production of aragonite.
It is suggested to maintain an alkalinity between 7 and 12 depending on the aquarium inhabitants to ensure a stable aquarium system. This in return will ensure that your inhabitants thrive, and your corals grow
At a glance
Raises alkalinity, adjusts pH to 8.3
Unlike single component KH products such as sodium carbonate, Alkalin 8.3 is a multi-component automatic buffer that regulates pH
Eliminates pH and KH instability caused by poor salt mixes and ineffective buffering products
Highly-effective alkalinity(KH)-increasing (”buffer”) solution.
Helps increase pH Stability in an aquarium by raising the alkalinity
Provides a source of carbonates, which make up the majority by weight of aragonite, the mineral secreted by reef-building organisms as skeletal material
Continued addition raises pH until 8.3 is reached, at which point the pH remains unchanged and the alkalinity alone increases
Over 50% stronger than most competing products
Free of phosphates, silicate, and organic material
