Habistat Heat Mats are ultra long wavelength infra red-producing heat mats for use in reptile environments such as vivariums and terrariums. The heat mats have the ability to gently warm furnishings within the tank that they are directed underneath or over the top of, and can provide subtle basking conditions for reptiles.
The Habistat Heat Mat can produce realistic conditions to those found in nature and produce an effect in close comparison to the sun, allowing reptiles to absorb the heat through basking. Your pet can sit on top of the mat or underneath it to enjoy the effects of the special heat mat, and when used correctly, will not burn the animal.
Many lizard species require basket spots or areas of localized heat and in these circumstances, additional heat should be provided.
Note: If you are keeping animals that require higher temperatures, then you may require additional supplemental heating.
