Copper is a Trace element which is present in small amounts in the reefs around the world. Copper is an essential element that kept in small concentrations has a positive impact on coral skeleton calcification, Health and colouration. Copper is also required for multiple biological processes of corals ad other organisms.
It is important to keep Copper levels correct in an aquariums as too much can be deadly but not enough can inhibit coral growth. It is essential to use ICP testing to monitor Copper levels within your aquarium. Naturally Copper is present in a variety of concentrations, however it never goes above 3 µg/l
