Deltec 400i Internal Protein Skimmer
The Deltec 400i Internal Protein Skimmer is the smallest skimmer in the “i” Series. Sharing the traits with the rest of the well-received “i” series. This skimmer will be familiar to those who already use a Deltec “i” packing all the innovation Deltec have made over the years to make their skimmers stand out from the rest. Deltec have used their classic cylinder body design for maximum performance from the unit.
The Deltec 400i also has several design elements for ease of use such as the the emergency overflow with water level indicator, Hollow footplate design, Micro water level adjuster, toolless maintenance, Pump feed and pause button. The Deltec 400i is also hand built in Germany.
The emergency overflow and regulator pipes prevent the collection cup from overflowing if the water level in the skimmer rises due to sump water level rising, or the air intake becoming blocked. If the water level does become too high in the air feed will automatically shut off by the emergency overflow so that excess water can escape, preventing flooding in the cup washing waste back into your aquarium.
The Hallow footplate design allows water to exit the skimmer through a void within the footplate before flowing into the integrated level adjustment tube and emergency overflow tube. The design means that water will exit the body at the lowest point, reducing the chance of micro bubbles escaping the unit, increate the air and water contact time. IN turn this reduces noise and turbulence within the unit.
The pump included is controllable via electronic adjustment that is included in the ten-stage controller allowing water flow and air input to be optimised to the requirement of the aquarium. Slowing it will also allow a longer dwell tim in the unit for lighter stocked aquariums and then increased to suit the tanks specific need. The DCC1 pump can generate 450 LPH of air while only using 12W of power.
