Seachem Pristine is a natural organic waste management additive which rapidly and safely eliminates sludge and detritus within Freshwater and Saltwater aquariums which assists in increasing water clarity. Pristine uses Bio-augmentation, a non-chemical and natural method, to improve water quality within your aquarium. Pristine contains bacteria that break down excess food, waste, and detritus in freshwater and marine systems. This assists in reducing excess nutrients which are a by product of these accumulations that in turn could fuel growth of nuisance and disease-causing organisms.
The bacteria within Pristine thrive in fresh or salt water and can utilize a wide range of organic compounds, including fats that can cause unsightly films on surfaces within the aquarium and water surface. Contrary to traditional nitrifying bacteria, this blend of bacteria can adapt to harsh or low oxygen environments and will continue to multiply and improve water conditions. Established bacterial colonies will produce biopolymers which trap particulates and increase water quality as a result.
