Tropic Marin Bio-Calcium 500g was created to provide the required calcium for your reef aquarium. Corals and other invertebrates use calcium from the sea to grow. While there is an endless supply of calcium in the ocean, it is very different for a closed system such as an aquarium. Calcium and alkalinity are bother depleted quickly within an environment such as this. To support healthy and natural growth of corals, balanced calcium is essential.
In the ocean calcium is roughly at 410 mg/l, combined with an alkalinity of 6.5 dH and a pH of 8.2. These 3 parameters work together in water to reach calcium saturation, something essential for coral growth. Bio-Calcium is a simple and efficient way to raise both calcium and alkalinity and stabilise pH for optimal growth in corals whole create an ideal condition for a successful reef aquarium.
