AquaVitro Reef 8.4 150ml
AquaVitro Reef 8.4 suppliers a balanced buffer system has a pK of 8.6 which promotes a pH of 8.3-8.5. Many buffer systems for reef aquariums are sodium Bicarbonate, these types have a pK of 8.0 in saltwater making them unable to maintain a pH above 8.0. The low buffering pK is a function of low carbonate/bicarbonate ratio.
8.4 suppliers a balanced buffer system, with a pK of 8.6 making it easier to maintain a pH of 8.3-8.5/ A higher pK increases the buffers’ ability to counteract inevitable acidic sources in the water. It will safely raise the pH while also adjusting the alkalinity.
The product contains a concentrated and balanced blend of bicarbonate and carbonate salts designed to restore disrupted buffer systems and increase the carbonate alkalinity. If your alkalinity target has been reached but you pH is still unstable, it is recommended to check magnesium levels are still in balance. If your parameters remain are correct but the pH is still suffering, this may be down to high concentrations of Co2 within the room or the aquarium and adjustments will be required to correct this.
Directions: Dosing requirements will vary, but do not exceed the recommended dose without checking your pH and alkalinity (alkalinity should not exceed 6 meq/L). Use 5 mL for every 80 L (20 US gallons) daily until pH stabilizes to desired level.
pH stabilization may take from a day to a week, depending on original pH, alkalinity, and buffer system balance. Thereafter, use as needed to maintain pH.
