Tropic Marin pH-Test
The Tropic Marin pH-Test helps quickly determine the pH levels within your aquarium. The pH value indicated how acidic or alkaline the water is within an aquarium. Pure water holds a neutral pH, a value of 7. If the acidic components outweigh the alkaline, your pH will fall (pH < 7). If the alkaline outweighs the acidic, the pH Raises (pH > 7). Many aquatic organisms are extremely sensitive to big pH changes. To avoid this, we use the pH test to monitor our pH in the aquarium and make adjustments as required to ensure that it remains stable and suitable for the fish we keep.
In a saltwater aquarium however, the optimum pH is between 8.0 and 8.5, similar to that of the ocean. Particularly in a saltwater aquarium, fluctuations need to be avoided to ensure that the animals within the aquarium remain healthy and unaffected by pH fluctuation. All aquariums should be tested on pH regularly to ensure the optimal water levels for your fish are met.
